Bark Bark Bark said miss d
Well, I turned the little thing on this morning and being all thumbs I set the language to Chinese. Lots of symbols and not alot of understanding. Guess I need to learn Chinese or figure out how to get the Ipod reset. Off to apple.com to see if I can find out how.
Miss D got a kitchen... will post pics later. She is loving it.
She also is fighting croup. She started with a fever and a little cough. Now she is so hoarse... but it is so cute. Her little voice is so raspy. It just melts our heart... she is so pitiful. Pray for a quick recovery. I know that she is going to be fine... but those moments when fear creeps in and speak into my ear nasty things...just not cool.
We also have about 7 inches of snow.
I'm loving my White Christmas!
Siting here looking out the window.
With a raspy 2 year old.
And a Chinese I pod.
And snow on the satellite dish and no TV.
I'm loving my White Christmas!
The movie in on the TV downstairs.
Miss D is crying because I won't play "kitchen"
Guess I better go take care of my girl.
I'm Loving my White Christmas.

Colonial Candle Jar No More
I had to get the excess wax out of the jar. I put the jar upside down in the oven on a baking sheet lined with foil. I turned on the oven to 350' and sat there and waited. The wax started to drip down the side and I thought... this might actually work. The wheels were turning. What could I put in it???? Gumballs was my first thought. I don't even own any gumballs, let alone eat them. What else? As the wax was dripping my oven was smelling just like the scent of the candle. Balsam Fir... Christmasy of course. I took it out and wondered what do I do with the wax? Pour it in the garbage all drippy? I tried that... it dripped on the side of the pan and all over the garbage. Opps... crafting beginner mistake. I got that cleaned up and then I wondered how do I get the oil residue out of the jar. Windex to the rescue. It kinda worked... along with some dish soap and lots of scrubbing. Then the jar was squeaky clean. Now to the laundry room where my lame craft supply is. 4 little things of craft paint and few pieces of scrapbook paper. I have lots of beads though. I had to work those in somehow. So lots of coats of paint, some mod podge to hold the paper on and some raffia and wallah.. a holder for my cotton balls that I got out of Miss D's old room where they have been since she was a baby. I don't even use cotton balls for much... but they do look cute in there right. I suppose when I get tired of having it on my counter I can use it to hold pens or loose change.

Jewelry With Significance
Here is a sentence from this book...
"The more we live as citizens of heaven, the more heaven's activities infect our lifestyles". p.59
"Faith is the mirror of the heart that reflects the realities of His world into ours". p.48
"Jesus told Nicodemus that he'd have to be born again to see the Kingdom. John 3:3
That which is unseen can be realized only through repentance. It was as though He said, " If you don't change the way you perceive things, you'll live you whole life thinking that what you see in the natural is the superior reality. Without changing the way you think you'll never see the world that is right in from of you. It's My world, and it fulfills every dream you've ever had. And I brought it with me." All that He did in life and ministry, He did by drawing from that superior reality." p. 38
That is a glimpse into my vibrantly highlighted book. My MIL is an inspiration and I thank God for how she is teaching me tools to guide my life closer to the LORD!

at least he had a toilet!
Mon Dec 10, 2007 12:39pm EST
LONDON (Reuters) - A retired Scottish school teacher was recovering on Monday after spending nearly four days trapped inside a men's toilet with no food or mobile phone.
David Leggat was locked inside the bathroom at a lawn bowling club near the Scottish city of Aberdeen after the door jammed and the handle on the outside fell off.
The 55-year-old kept warm by dipping his feet in hot water but only managed to get about three hours' sleep a night in the freezing temperatures, the local Evening Express newspaper reported.
He was rescued when the cleaner at the club, which is little used in winter, turned up to collect her cleaning equipment.
Leggat said a survival course he had once done had helped him endure his captivity. The cleaning lady said he looked shaken and grey when he emerged. Leggat was stoical.
"At least there was a toilet to use," he said. "The only thing I regret is not getting trapped behind the bar."

So here is a touch of the Christmas spice up here in the country. We decorate our tree the same every year. It has been that way since we got married. Green, Red and White. We have had the same lights since we got married. We were married in the fall and when Christmas came around we didn't have anything to decorate with. Mr. D came into the marriage with a box of his childhood ornaments and that was it. So we headed out for a Christmas decoration buying binge. That was year number one and since then I have slowly added a few decorations each year. They last two years though I wasn't to into decorating. I had the mindset that whatever I get out of the box is going to have to go back in after Christmas is over. Two years ago I was very prego with Miss D and last year I was still feeling nausea from being pregnant with Hazel. So this year I went all out. Lights up the stairs, in the nook and in the entryway. None outside though... I'm not that brave with the ladder. Mr. D didn't grow up putting up Christmas lights on the house and my family only did it a few times.... so it isn't really a must for me. My little tot is doing well. She is talking SO well and recalling things from days before. She is associating things with other things... like Grammy's house and fruit snacks, Grandma and Grandpa's house with their golf cart. When she gets dropped off there she will declare "momma church" or "momma doctor" those are the only places that she thinks I ever go without her. Today she was at the golf house with my parents and they went for a ride in the golf cart and saw a tree that had fallen down. When I got back from BSF she told me in the saddest most tradgic voice.."tree fall down... papa fixed it". Tonight in the bath she was still talking about it. She is surely approaching two years old. She has lost her baby fat face and she has a huge tummy and skinny little legs. Her hair is getting long also. The other day I put it up in ponytails with half her hair and then I braided them. She was a pint-sized blond version of Pippy Longstocking...(one of my favs as a child)
There was this cartoon movie that I also loved... these dolls or something would go through the mirror and then be in a different world or something.... a friend and I watched that a few years ago when we saw it in the video store... lame! Just did a google search for "80's through a mirror cartoon"... and I found the title.
Wow... Christmas decor to movies of my childhood. Sunday, December 2, 2007
