Update in Pics

We celebrated Mr. D's Birthday a few weeks ago. His parents were out here for a week and were able to share his birthday with him. We went out to a local BBQ place. Miss D had a corn dog. Bad choice for her. That girl really wants meat. Steak, Pork or Chicken. She is a meat eating kinda girl. We had a great time with his parents here. They just missed Gary Oates at our church though. He was here over this last weekend. We had their intern stay here at our house so she didn't have to drive an hour home and then come back to church on Sunday. She was from London and has been in the states for 6 years. Miss D loved the way that she talked. I got to go to the conference on Friday night BY MYSELF. It started at 7pm and so I fed Baby D and he went to bed and I took off. It was so great to be able to concentrate on listening without having to bounce a baby I am trying to keep quiet. Mr. D went on Saturday night and I stayed home with the kiddos. It was a great conference.

This was a few weeks ago. I don't put a blanket on him anymore after he started to scoop and turn around in bed. Now he gets jammies and a fleece sleep sack. He was grunting around in bed and this is what I went in to find. You may remember this post. What is it with my kids and sticking their arms and legs out through the crib slats???

Isn't my little Miss D such a girl... this is what she wanted to wear today. Her easter dress from this last year. After her bath I did her hair up in a ponytail and then braided it into a bun. She looked so pretty. All dolled up and no where to go. We did however go to Old Navy to spend a gift certificate from doing some flowers for a wedding over the summer. I have been saving it. I'm so glad I did because I was in serious need of clothes. I have about 2 pairs of pants that fit me and I was so over them. So after spending some time at oldnavyweekly I scored a 20% off coupon and added with their up to 50% off womens items I think did pretty well. I surely gave the girl working in the dressing rooms work to keep her busy until closing cause of the mounds of clothes that I tried on trying to find anything that fit me. Post pregnancy body SUCKS. But everytime I think of my little baby boy and how I adore him...It is worth it. If only nursing made me lose weight... well it doesn't. And it didn't with Miss D either! Ugggh. O well... here is to the in between clothes that I just got today. I will love you only as long as I have too... And here is to the huge stack of jeans I miss so much... See you as soon as I can. But I'm not holding my breath until then.

SUCCESS!

I got to give it to my little guy. He has been trying for about a month to get that thumb in his mouth. Yesterday it happened for him. All day today he has had it in his mouth and he gets this little look on his face like he is saying...."Yah I did it".... "I'm cool". He is in love with his little thumb and it is so cute. I'm so happy for him.

Mr D's Race Weekend In Richmond

The Ultimate Race Weekend Package
It was Mr. D's Birthday a few days ago and his parents came out for a visit. The 2 guys headed to Virginia for the Nascar race... yes I was jealous I couldn't go... but I got over it. I'm waiting for Bristol, TN.
Mr. D's Father had an in with M&M Mars Candy Company. He was able to get a sweet package deal for FREE that included 4 tickets to the Race. Parking pass. Meet and Greet with Kyle Busch. Pit Tour. Box seats with lunch and dinner served. Meet Joe Gibbs. Try on his super bowl ring. Chat with JD Gibbs down in the pits (cause they had already met). Basically awesomeness in general.

They had a great time.

Good Morning and a gooood night.

This morning in one silly story..............

Miss D walks in to the kitchen with two foam balls under her shirt.
I ask what she is doing?
She tells me those are babies under her shirt.
One is Gavin and one is Julia.
She takes the foam balls out from under her shirt to tell me the red one is Julia and the Blue one is Gavin.
She put them back under her shirt.
She then goes to get a pencil and comes back to tell me that the pencil is what she is using to keep the Octagons away.
Yes Octagons.
She then goes and puts the "babies" in bed.
ie... taking the foam ball "babies" and putting them on the bottom of the stairs.
She then is on the look out for "Octagons".
She deems the downstairs baby placement as unsafe and takes the "babies" to the top of the stairs where they will be safe.

Game over... eggo is ready to eat.

(Gavin and Julia are my brothers twins who are due to be born in a few weeks)

Silly one liners from Miss D just now...

"I call my water pop sometimes."
"My Eggo isn't crunchy anymore... cause I mixed it with spit."

Ohhh... and one more cool thing... baby D fed and bed at 9:30pm last night.
I went in to get him at.....................drumroll please.

7:25 am!

now if I only would have gone to bed when he did.

A bunch of Randoms round 2

My morning drink... Yum!

ICE
Coffee
Chocolate Syrup
NonFat Milk
WhipCream

SO Good.

This is Miss D's new friend Miss M... They are 1 month apart. Miss M took Miss D by the hand and led her to class at church on our 1st day. It was so cute. When I dropped Miss D off at class this last Sunday Miss M called to her and said "over here... there is a seat right here" and she patted the chair right next to her as they were having a snack and coloring. So Sweet!

This is after I french-braided her hair.

``````````````````````
And by the way Baby D laughed today. He is really ticklish!
Right under his neck.... just like his sister.
Crazy Love
I just ordered my book for a book club that I'm going to be following. It is kicking off on September 13th. I'm excited cause it is through the blog of the wife of Selah... one of my favorite music groups. The book is called "Crazy Love". I was able to get the book for just $6.99. Her blog is found by clicking here.
nuggy from last nights worship conference
Little nugget from the worship conference last night.
31 For He stands at the right hand of the needy one,
to save his life from those who condemn him. Psalm 109:31
That puts Jesus at my right hand.
1 The LORD says to my Lord:
"Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet." Psalm 110:1
The Father says to Jesus sit at my right hand.
If Jesus is at the right hand of the Father and I'm at the right hand of Jesus... that puts me in between then right?
How cool is that?
That is where I want to spend my day.
Thanks Gramma Donna
....note the face she make as she puts her baby up to burp...I hope that isn't what I look like?
Miss D's Criagslist find.
Well actually I found it...
We were talking last night over pizza that we need to get a bike for Miss D. At our previous house there wasn't anywhere for her to ride. If you had been to that house you would understand why. We could have sent her down the hill and said "have a good one" but we didn't and I'm sure someday she will thank us. I guess we could have got her one and sent her next door to ride circles around their house (they paved with sidewalks around their house for their kids to ride... but we didn't. I guess we are lame). So she is a little delayed in learning how to pedal. I hit Craigslist last night and typed in "girl bike" and what did I find??? See above. And do you see that it has a seat for her BABY! Does it get any better? She doesn't think so. Also it came with a helmet. Something I didn't even think of. I wonder how we all survived growing up without one? Yeah Right. SO I put Baby D down for bed and we headed outside to teach our girl how to ride. We discovered that we have never said "pedal" so many times in our life before yesterday. Also Mr. D kept getting frustrated with her because she couldn't get her left foot to continue with the circle it needed to make....as did I. So frustrating. She kept using the brake and stopping.
Half a pedal
Break
Stop
Half a pedal
Break
Stop
Push to get going
Pedal
Pedal
Break
Stop
Repeat
Annoying! Come On girl what are you 3 or something?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also had to throw in a picture of Baby D's legs... Do they get any yummier? And that smile Deelish!

Morning "Walk".

We attempted a morning walk today.
What we learned on our morning walk.

~Go Earlier... if I don't want to hear Miss D complain the whole time how hot she is.
~Attempt less distance...so Miss D can build up her stamina for walking in the heat. (we did only make it about 4 houses before turning around)
~Take Baby D when he isn't that close to wanting to sleep cause he started to cry about half way during the walk.
~Take Baby D with just a diaper on.
~Take an extra blanket to cover where the sun gets in through the stroller.
~Make Miss D wear Flip Flops so her feet don't get sweaty.

Hmmm.... I should just take a walk without them. That would be a whole heck of alot easier.
But where is the fun in that??

not forgotten... just paused.

I know I know this blog has been put on the back burner. I haven't forgot about it for sure... if anything I think about it often. I think about the fact that I won't be living outside the city limits anymore and I've been wondering do I change the name?
I also have a newborn and a 3.5 year old who is having to do way to much growing up for my liking.
  • Wiping herself (TMI?)
  • Washing her own hands
  • Playing outside by herself (I checked on her once and it was as if I was totally interrupting)
  • Getting out of the car without help
  • Going to bed without a story and songs... (every night like we use to)
Baby D and her have been taking a great nap at the same time for the last couple weeks. I have been joining them.. but my night sleep has been taking a hit. It is taking me way to long to fall asleep. That is pretty good for a mom with a 5 week old I think. I'm really rested and except for the fact that I can't eat enough and drink enough I'm doing really great...
except........................
Mr. D has been in the "Ville" (that's what we will call the new place we are moving to) for the last 2.5 weeks. We fly out on Tuesday at 6am. You read that correctly... 6am. So we have to be at the airport say 4am... that puts up getting up at....well I don't even want to think about it. I won't be having the problem cause I will be up feeding Baby D around 2-3 am. I have adjusted to getting up then. It will be getting the rest of the travelers up. I don't have any idea how Miss D will do with that. I think that she will be so excited for an airplane ride that she won't care until maybe around noon when it hits her that she got up at 3am. What gives me peace it knowing that the day will end and we will make it to the Ville and we will see DADDY!

We miss him so much.

What is so sad is that Baby D was 3 weeks when he left and will be 6 weeks when we are together again. That is half his life. He will be twice as old and so much bigger. May I add that he is getting so chubby. YUM!

Well... back to laundry because I was running out of clean non-spit up pottied clothes.
(and certainly not because of me)

3000 miles away

Well it is official... almost all my belongings (minus what I have here that hopefully I can cram into my suitcase) are 3000 miles away. Mr. D and T made the trek across the country in 5 days. I enjoyed getting updates on their progress on Facebook via mobile updates from T. All of our belongings are unloaded in the garage of our new "home". The grass needed to be mowed and I think that was taken care of by a neighbor. We also had some people from the church that we attended during our two past trips come and help unload the truck. How cool is that? It sounds like the previous owner didn't clean very well upon moving out. Bummer. Not sure if Mr. D will see that as a priority? But I can't be picky from 3000 miles away right?

I sit here with both of my children sleeping... one of who really misses her daddy. I sit here knowing that soon I will be moving away from everything that I have ever known. I think about the unknown and decide that it is easier to not go there and not have any expectations of what my future holds. I do have to say that I an excited for my future. Don't get me wrong... it will be terrible to take my 3 year old and newborn away from everything that we know as normal. Miss D has a life here and she knows what to expect when she wakes up. She knows where we are going when I say..." Do you want to go to Garden"...? On the way to "Garden" we pass by "Bible School" and she sees the building and knows exactly where she is. I'm about to seriously rock her little world. No more Garden... no more bible school. We are enrolled for bible school in the new town that we will be living in... I will just need to find someone to watch baby D one day a week for 3 hours. I'm leaving that up to God to work that out. I know that bible school (BSF) is something that we can have as a part of Miss D's life that will be the same as here. I'm thankful for that. This will be my 4th year of BSF... We are studying the book of John this year.

16 days and counting...

See you Soon.

Mr. D is leaving town today and my computer is all packed up. He is also taking this laptop that I"m typing on right now. I will try and do a post at my In-laws house... But I may just see you on the other side. We fly out on August 4th...
Good Bye Life outside the City Limits...
Our next house we will be living in is well inside the city limits. It is in a neighborhood!
Crazy Exciting TIMES!

Baby D comes today.

It is 6:30am and I'm hungry and thirsty. Can I eat and drink NO! But I will persevere because today is the day that we meet our baby. I have a c-section planned because Baby D has decided to stay breech and not to flip. He still has until we get to the hospital and they do an ultrasound to see if he actually is still breech. I slept pretty good. I got up to take Miss D potty at about 2:15am. I had set my alarm to get up at 2:30am to eat a snack and drink what I could while I still could. Cut off was at 3:00am. It is going to be really hard... I'm so thirsty!!! Maybe brushing my teeth will help.
Today is going to be a really cool day!

I feel bad for the little guy. He is just minding his own business all cozy and in a few hours his little world as he knows it is going to be seriously rocked.

C-Section MONDAY

I have another NST today and another Friday. I also have 2 more Chiropractic adjustments to try and get him to flip from being breech. If all my shenanigans fail and he stays breech then I show up Monday for a C-Section! He should be above 8 pounds by then... and we are so excited to meet him! Last minute preparations... like my haircut today. He is still contained and quiet right now. Perfect time for a last minute haircut. We also had to move ALL of our stuff out of where it was stored into a storage unit. (and when I say we I really mean Mr. D). I packed like 3 boxes in the 2 hours that I was there. I was of NO help at all. He worked it all day yesterday and got 80% of the stuff moved by himself.. then a friend showed up at 5pm to help him with the 2 man stuff. I showed up with dinner last night (prepared by my mother-in-law...cause I'm hugely pregnant with a breech baby and man I'm tired.... his head is so far up between my ribs that it is silly looking). When I got there to feed my tired man I couldn't believe how much he had got done. He said that he was dragging it all day because he didn't have any coffee yesterday morning but you would have never know by all the work that got done. He should be done by lunch time today! GREAT JOB HONEY!

Turning 30 today.

Hmmmm..... 30 years old.
Not sure how I feel about that one. Kinda wishing I could have some drinks tonight to celebrate.. but I don't think baby D would be to happy about that. I will just think about my favorite drink. Let's look at this picture and just think about how yummy it is.... Brandy Sour... how I love your tart yet sweet flavor.
Well that certainly wasn't as good and having one to drink but it will have to do.
I just had a big glass of chocolate milk next Miss D as we watch the backyardigans. We are out of cereal.

My brain has really been out to lunch the last few days. I don't really have much to say. Hmmm.....
My c-section is scheduled for June 22nd. If he has flipped by then I will just have an induction that day instead of a c-section. Crazy that we are really that close to meeting our little guy. He is gaining weight well and I'm thinking he will be in the 8 pound range when he is born.
I'm getting my haircut for my birthday present. We won't go into how much that costs... but it will be the last time before we move to see her.
Welp... off to my birthday day. Hope it's a good one!

Playground Pics

Miss D has been enjoying a few playgrounds in the last few weeks.... This one is in the town that we use to live in and we were at a birthday party. They had a snake hunt and here is Miss D kissing her find...She is getting more brave playing on the slide and climbing on stuff. It is so neat to see her getting out of her comfort zone and trying new things.. such a big girl.

Thursday, June 4, 2009

We took Miss D out for some ice cream the other night. It was really hot and our apartment was without air conditioning (we have a window unit now). But those hot days that we had were brutal up here. At about 5pm I would get super grumpy and annoyed. We would have to leave the apartment in order for me to not lose it. We wandered down to our lovely neighbors (Mr.D's parents) and sit on their back patio. It was funny that it would usually be around dinner time and so we would end up going out or eating there. Ice Cream this day was after a dinner out on the waterfront. We couldn't sit outside at the restaurant but there was seating that lined the patio and they had the walls taken off the building to enjoy the weather. I'm now getting to the point of uncomfortableness. By the way Miss D powered through this entire ice cream cone. By the way... notice her ears. We got them pierced to celebrate baby Hazel's 2nd birthday. She still cries when we clean them but I'm thinking it is out of anticipation that it will hurt. It may hurt a little still...... it has only been a week. They are really cute and haven't really bothered her at all. I was thinking we would hear it from her when she tried to sleep... but she hasn't made a big deal about it. She needs daddy while she gets them cleaned to hold her... I'm the bad guy cause I do the cleaning. They haven't gotten red at all and are doing really great.

He is still breech so I don't have that heaviness feeling but it is getting more and more interesting to have a head lodged in my right ribs. Today I was trying to put lotion on my legs and I could barely reach over because his head was blocking my rib cage from allowing me to reach my legs. I really am doing well and so is he. Except for the breech part. If he doesn't flip before the week of the 22nd of June I will have him that week. That will be my 38th week. If he does flip I will get to be induced the week before that. I really don't care either way... I just want him to be healthy and happy. He is still so active and wiggly. I went in on Tuesday for an NST (Non Stress Test) where they hooked me up to monitor his heartbeat and my contractions (which I'm not having any). He looked wonderful. He had the hiccups when I was in there. They also measured my fluid level and it was well within normal range. So he still has lots of room to move around. A week ago he was almost 6 pounds. I go in again tomorrow for a NST.

Last Sunday we celebrated my cousin's upcoming wedding with a day out in a limo for wine tasting. Yes... I had a few sips. It amounted to I would guess a few teaspoons... but it was so yummy. I got a bottle of the one that was our favorite.  We had a great time out. I had never been on a tasting excursion. We only made it to 2 wineries but we still had a great time.

We also said goodbye to Mr. D's truck tonight. Miss D was heartbroken. She loved going with daddy on dates in his truck. She broke down and had a good cry as the people showed up to by the truck. She even gave it a few pats good bye. It was really sweet. We put the truck up on Craigslist and the 1st person that called on it wanted to by it. I bet it was only on Craigslist for a few days. We still have my car up on Craigslist and we are about to renew the ad for my car. Anyone want to buy a 2007 Jeep Commander? Down to one vehicle... that should be interesting. I guess it shouldn't be to bad... Mr. D doesn't have a job.
