Lakeside Views

This is a few pics of the local Lake Norman. There is 500 miles of lakeside property. It was so pretty. We had a great day just driving around and site seeing. We have a few suggestions of some more places to check out.
Mt. Mitchell
Builtmore House
and some scenic road that I can't remember the name of. It is about a 2 hour drive from where we are staying. But he said that the "Smoky Mountains" are worth seeing. They aren't much of a comparison to the mountains at home but... hey we still got 6 days!

Travling Today

I come to you my blogging fans from the city of Huntersville, NC. Mr. D and I are here for a little R&R. We will be touring the surrounding cities and having a great time. We had a great day of travels. Everything was so smooth. On the first leg of the flight to Minneapolis there was an empty seat next to me so we were able to stretch out and have some spare space. Mr. D enjoyed that since being cramped isn't his best fit. His legs are a bit long for the seat spacing. So I scooted over and we had the seat between us to just flow over into. We left Miss D with the 1st leg of her travels last night. Our flight left this morning very early and so we didn't want to wake her up. We dropped my car off at my parents house and were on our way. I was a little weirded out by knowing that Miss D was inside the house and that I just dropped off the car and took off. I really wanted to go in and give her a little kiss. That would have been selfish of me disturbing her at 5 am so I resisted. We were on to the airport and on our way to Charlotte. We made out connection in Minneapolis a half hour early. When I was booking the tickets I didn't think about the fact that Minneapolis could be a bit hairy in January. It was cold there, but not a drop of moisture and so therefore no delays. On the plane I was able to get into the Word. Proverbs and Psalms 10 today. Also, I read a bit of my BSF notes and began to read another book on the Holy Spirit. It was a fairly quick trip. It was nice to have the flights broken up in 2.5 hour increments. Our hotel is GREAT. We have a kitchenette and all the amenities. I come to you from FREE wireless internet. I even brought my usb cable to get some pictures off my memory card so that I don't have to worry about keeping my picture count low. So here is a few pics of our visit to the grocery store tonight. Please disregard my bloodshot eyes. A day of traveling on dry air-airplanes and no visine. Gross Spam like product. Milk that is in yellow plastic containers. Crazy expensive yogurt.

EIGHT things that drive me crazy.

(disclaimer... I wouldn't say that I have anything that as Shan puts it "drives me crazy" but here are a few things that I don't like very much.)

I'm a pretty passive person. When I was posed with this question it did take me a minute to think in some things.

So here they are...

1. The little ear phones that go inside my ears. They came with my Ipod and they hurt my ears.

2. When I'm skiing or all bundled up for a play in the snow.... I have to have all my layers sleek and without any bunches (especially my socks and pants)

3. Dog slobber (pretty passionate about that one)

4. When others put themselves down. I wonder what I'm suppose to say to them in response? Are they looking for building up or just a listening ear?

5. The feel of squeaky clean dishes on my fingers. I have gotten use to it over the years. But I use to have to empty the dishwasher with damp hands.

6. Thinking about having any sort of blanket or cloth in my mouth. The thought of cotton touching my tongue... yuck! I can barely watch when Miss D puts her niney in her mouth.

7. The dust that daily accumulates on my Hardwood floor.

8. Cleaning out Miss D's poopoo chair.

Now who to tag? Steph and Linds

Brain Age 2

I bought Mr. D a Nintendo DS for Christmas this year. It was a joint present because I knew that I would get some use out of it too. I bought the game Brain Age 2. It begins with a test to determine the players brain age. There is a series of tests I had to go through...randomly chosen. Long story short my brain age was 80! That didn't make a girl feel very good. So... the point of the game is to improve brain function. The game is set up to give you certain exercises everyday to imporve brain function. I can retake the brainage test daily. I have taken the test again a few times. Only after a few days of training in between. A few of the tests are... Word Scramble (unscrambling words), Piano Player (using the stylus to play the tune of the song given), Memory Sprint (keeping track of a little runner as he goes ahead of people and falls behind and then at the end telling what place he came in) and a few more games. It unlocks more training modes the more daily stamps I get. My brain age began at 80 and went down to 70. Then it went to 52 then back up to 56. I took the brain test today and my brain age (I'm glad to say) is now 38!!! I have to say that I am actually getting better at doing math in my head. Not a skill that I have ever had. I have always been stuck counting the way that I learned in 1st grade. I will expain it to anyone who wants to know. But it has always been a stumbling block for me in learning to memorize the math ploblem and the answer. I feel like my brain is getting quicker and better at memorizing and counting. I really like the game. We also bought Super Mario Brothers... so if I'm feeling really good about myself, I will just go and play that game and realize that I have trouble beating a level without having the little mushroom that makes me super big and I can just slam through the level by mowing everything down that was in my way.
Now don't you all feel enlightened and want to go and buy a Nintendo DS.

Doe a deer... a female deer.

I wish that I could sing.
I'm sitting here loading my cd's on to iTunes and I just loaded the soundtrack to The Sound Of Music and I'm listening to it right now. I just love to sing along to this cd. But I would be so much better if I actually sounded better. I'm glad that Miss D could are less. Mr. D and I would really love to be able to just break out in song when ever we wanted to and not have to worry that what was coming out of our mouths would slightly repulse people. Anyone out there with me on this subject. Not counting those of you that can sing.... Melody and Stephanie. I look to you and think.... how lucky you are to be able to express yourself in song. I love to listen to music and sing along. I have such an array of music. Many of you may know that I have a large span of music to my collection. From the Shakespeare Sisters to Dean Martin.

New and Improved

My blog readers... I come to you from my NEW computer. Let me tell you that my last one was pre marriage and very achient. But I am moving into 2008 at a nice quick speed. With dial-up still but with more ram and speed. I'm loving Windows Vista. I had heard mixed reports on the radio, but I think that they worked most of the bugs out and I like it just fine. We had a wonderful Christmas. We downloaded Itunes (3.5 hours) and I've been loading all my cd on there for my Ipod. Miss D is feeling much better. Her voice is back and so is her energy. Croup really got her sown but I surly enjoyed all her snuggle time. Now she just has a bit of a cruddy cough... but nothing to stress about. We made it through without even taking her to the doctor. I questioned myself a few times.. but my SIL who is a nurse practitioner reassured me and said that she would get worse before she got better and that was very true. It lasted a week and we are just coming out of it. So nice to have my girl back. Here are a few pics of my croupy little girl on Christmas eve and Christmas day.

We had a great New Years Day. Every year we spend it with Mr. D's family and we eat Abelskivers. It is a traditional Danish Dish and so very yummy. We stayed there all day... just like we do every year. We watched football and played games. Miss D got a nap and it was fum to just vegg out and snack all day. I was talking with Mr. D later that night over some tea and I shared with him how I don't like the feeling of being full all day. There is just something wrong with now feeling the hunger feeling. I wasn't feeling hungry but it was lunch time and so I thought... well I better eat lunch. I wasn't hungry though... but I still ate. I was full of junk. Today I'm back to 1200 cals and I'm on to lose the last "10". I bet that it is a few more after the last few weeks of trying to squeeze a workout here and there. Also eating all the holiday yumminess!

What should I do as a work out today... uggg such a habit to start again. A habit shouldn't be something to start and stop. I love the fact that my clothes fit and I'm determined to have made a life change.

Mr. D and I are taking a trip to North Carolina soon. I'm looking forward to getting away for a little while. We had planned to be gone for 5 days but somehow I booked the plane tickets wrong... or there was a mess up on someones part(maybe the airline)... anyways the tickets are for 8 days now! It was going to cost $850.00 to change the fare. We just decided to go with it and stay the whole time. Anybody out there have any suggestions for lodging? We have the 5 days we had planned on booked. But now we are going to be there for 3 more nights and we need somewhere to stay. We are thinking we might just wing it and decide once we are there. I need to get our car booked today. What about driving to South Carolina? Goergia? Virginia?

Those are all options.
I was going to post more pics but blogger is being picky.

Bark Bark Bark said miss d

I got the cutest Ipod Nano.. in my signature color... ROBIN'S EGG BLUE.
Well, I turned the little thing on this morning and being all thumbs I set the language to Chinese. Lots of symbols and not alot of understanding. Guess I need to learn Chinese or figure out how to get the Ipod reset. Off to apple.com to see if I can find out how.
Miss D got a kitchen... will post pics later. She is loving it.
She also is fighting croup. She started with a fever and a little cough. Now she is so hoarse... but it is so cute. Her little voice is so raspy. It just melts our heart... she is so pitiful. Pray for a quick recovery. I know that she is going to be fine... but those moments when fear creeps in and speak into my ear nasty things...just not cool.
We also have about 7 inches of snow.

I'm loving my White Christmas!
Siting here looking out the window.
With a raspy 2 year old.
And a Chinese I pod.
And snow on the satellite dish and no TV.

I'm loving my White Christmas!
The movie in on the TV downstairs.
Miss D is crying because I won't play "kitchen"
Guess I better go take care of my girl.
I'm Loving my White Christmas.

Colonial Candle Jar No More

I finished up burning my jar candle today and was thinking... what would shannon or beckie do with this nice heavy glass lidded jar. I pondered all day. The thoughts running through my head... what kind of lame attempt could I muster up at being creative. Give me someones house to organize or decorate and I can give a good attempt. I'm a fan of always moving the furniture around and keeping things interesting around the house. But creating something from nothing... that would be a task. I guess I lack the ability to visualize. I would be the kind to go and find something cute to just buy and bring home. Well... feeling inspired to create on my own I went for it.

I had to get the excess wax out of the jar. I put the jar upside down in the oven on a baking sheet lined with foil. I turned on the oven to 350' and sat there and waited. The wax started to drip down the side and I thought... this might actually work. The wheels were turning. What could I put in it???? Gumballs was my first thought. I don't even own any gumballs, let alone eat them. What else? As the wax was dripping my oven was smelling just like the scent of the candle. Balsam Fir... Christmasy of course. I took it out and wondered what do I do with the wax? Pour it in the garbage all drippy? I tried that... it dripped on the side of the pan and all over the garbage. Opps... crafting beginner mistake. I got that cleaned up and then I wondered how do I get the oil residue out of the jar. Windex to the rescue. It kinda worked... along with some dish soap and lots of scrubbing. Then the jar was squeaky clean. Now to the laundry room where my lame craft supply is. 4 little things of craft paint and few pieces of scrapbook paper. I have lots of beads though. I had to work those in somehow. So lots of coats of paint, some mod podge to hold the paper on and some raffia and wallah.. a holder for my cotton balls that I got out of Miss D's old room where they have been since she was a baby. I don't even use cotton balls for much... but they do look cute in there right. I suppose when I get tired of having it on my counter I can use it to hold pens or loose change.

Cookies and Dirty Floors

This was last night. My grandma gave us a batch of star sugar cookies. I HAD to let my girl have just one. We have been cutting majorly back on the sweets lately. I knew it was time when we drove onto the road that my In-Laws live on and she yells from the back seat "fruitsnacks"! There is just something wrong with that. So she has been rationed. But hey it's Christmas Time... I'm sharing a cookie with her. She devoured it! That's my girl... loves her veggies and loves her some sugar! I suppose there is a little bit of me in there somewhere. She sure acts alot like her daddy through.... proceed to next picture.

Miss D was down stairs having her breakfast of choice. I was upstairs checking email...making the bed etc. I heard her say "all done mom" and so this is what I found. If you know my hubby it
won't surprise you. Silly little girl.

I was Christmas shopping the other day and someone asked me if my husband was ... well you may know his name. They asked me because they said that Miss D looked like him and they were just wondering. I had never met this women in my life and they could pin point my husband because of my daughter. How random is that?

Also.. another great statement/story.... I was at a family dinner a few nights ago. Our reservation was at 6:30pm and we arrived there with our party of about 16 or so. The night proceeded as follows...
7pm- drinks were served
7:30pm fondue was served and dinner order taken
8pm- Soup and Salads arrive
8:40pm-Dinner was served
9:40pm- we are headed home.
It was a very long and tiring night... I had to change Miss D's diaper about half way through the night. It was just wet thankfully! It was an old restaurant and there was no changing table in the one stall bathroom! I had to take her diaper off and somehow put it back on while she was standing. Well... not possible. I had to lay her across my knees as I was squatting down. I had heels on my boots, so I was able to balance somewhat. She was inches from the dirty bathroom floor. I was sweating and there was someone waiting in line for the bathroom. And to top the night off... one of my family members(who I hadn't seen in since my weight loss) asked me if I had lost like 200 pounds. It was funny...we all laughed awkwardly. But hey it's cool. I do feel like I have lost that much... all the work it took to lose. I suppose after the 1st of the year it won't be to bad to get the last 10 off.... if I look like I've already lost 200!

Jewelry With Significance

My MIL just launched a blog. Gems By George. She is passionate about making jewelry and the pieces have a deeper meaning. The stones that she chooses are for a purpose. I would recommend a visit to her site. My SIL is the one that gave the blog that cute look. I'm happy to welcome her to the blogging world and I hope that her blog attracts people looking to fill a need with a piece of jewelry that has a significance to them in bringing them closer to Jesus. My MIL is a very Godly Women and she is a guide in this world. She has brought me closer to the Lord and is teaching me how to access the Kingdom of God. I'm in a Topical Book/Bible Study with her and a few friends. We are reading the book..."When Heaven Invades Earth" A Practical Guide to a Life of Miracles. This book is the kind of book that tweeks my mind. There are thoughts and ideas in this book that open up the mind's eye and cause you to see The Kingdom as accessible to all who know how to access it.

Here is a sentence from this book...
"The more we live as citizens of heaven, the more heaven's activities infect our lifestyles". p.59

"Faith is the mirror of the heart that reflects the realities of His world into ours". p.48

"Jesus told Nicodemus that he'd have to be born again to see the Kingdom. John 3:3
That which is unseen can be realized only through repentance. It was as though He said, " If you don't change the way you perceive things, you'll live you whole life thinking that what you see in the natural is the superior reality. Without changing the way you think you'll never see the world that is right in from of you. It's My world, and it fulfills every dream you've ever had. And I brought it with me." All that He did in life and ministry, He did by drawing from that superior reality." p. 38

That is a glimpse into my vibrantly highlighted book. My MIL is an inspiration and I thank God for how she is teaching me tools to guide my life closer to the LORD!

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas

We are watching White Christmas for the I don't knowith time.

Miss D refers to the movie as "Sisters" or "Mama's Songs".

I can't believe that today is the 14th!

Christmas is coming and I think I'm getting fat! This month has been a bad one. I have felt domestic... making cookies, fudge, Holiday Nog...

January is going to be the month that I tackle the last 10!

I hope it doesn't get to be more than 10!!! Come'on self-control.... step up to the plate.

choices.

I'm upstairs and Miss D is down stairs yelling "poo poo". She is watching Charlotte's Web and I don't think that she can tear herself away. Miss a bit of the movie and poo in my diaper... or get her little self upstairs to sit on the toilet. The result of her choice hangs in the balance. I keep telling her to come upstairs to the bathroom. But it is quite down there... I just peeked. She is standing at the bottom of the stairs still watching the movie. Still nothing. I bet if I went down to pick her up she would be relieved. Ahhhh, someone to make the clean break and make the choice for me. She hasn't gone today yet... so I know that if she doesn't... the past behavior says that she won't have a very good sleep tonight unless "it" comes out. And when I say "it" I mean something that NEVER looks like it could have been inside a two year old and she was still able to be walking around. I'm going to go and get her. I know for my piece of mind... I would like "it" out of her. More room for dinner right!

(too late.... in the diaper it is!)

at least he had a toilet!

Man freed after 100 hours trapped in a lavatory
Mon Dec 10, 2007 12:39pm EST

LONDON (Reuters) - A retired Scottish school teacher was recovering on Monday after spending nearly four days trapped inside a men's toilet with no food or mobile phone.
David Leggat was locked inside the bathroom at a lawn bowling club near the Scottish city of Aberdeen after the door jammed and the handle on the outside fell off.
The 55-year-old kept warm by dipping his feet in hot water but only managed to get about three hours' sleep a night in the freezing temperatures, the local Evening Express newspaper reported.
He was rescued when the cleaner at the club, which is little used in winter, turned up to collect her cleaning equipment.
Leggat said a survival course he had once done had helped him endure his captivity. The cleaning lady said he looked shaken and grey when he emerged. Leggat was stoical.
"At least there was a toilet to use," he said. "The only thing I regret is not getting trapped behind the bar."

steak...smooth as butter.

Miss D and I along with my dad's family went to Ruth's Chris Steak House tonight. We just went there for Mr. D's Bday a few weeks ago. We were treated again because my dad's sister is in town from St. John. My cousin was there who I haven't seen in a while also. It was a great evening and a great dinner. Really people does it get any better. Petite Filet med-medium well ( and they are that good to be able to meet the pink/red ratio that I require) perfect as always. Steak along with a side Cesar salad...split of course with my best co. Also, a side of an array of things.... Creamed Spinach Au Gratin (with sharp cheddar), Lightly Garlic Mashed Potatos, Asparagus aka "Gus", Julienne French Fries. Miss D was loving it . She is such a meat and potato kinda girl. She even got a scoop of "cream" after. We had great service as always and great wine. I asked for a holiday fun cocktail and he recommended a Mojito... not exactly a wintery kinda drink in my book... but tasty all the same. And to follow up a great dinner was a Cream Brulee with Fresh Berries. Yumm-o. I can't recommend this place enough. It is always wonderful. I'm not much of a steak person. I can't stand prime rib or most steaks... the fat and the veins and stuff just puts me over the edge. But at RC's the light is dimmed, so you really can't see to much detail of what you are eating and the fact that the steak comes out on a 500' plate sizzling with butter really makes it ok with me. Also, I measure how good a steak is by how many bites I have to spit out. If there is something that just isn't right with the bite... gristle or something. My teeth and tongue have heightened radar when it comes to steak consistency. I can say that out of the many times that I have been to RC's... I have only once had a cut of steak that wasn't good and I had only 4-5 spit out bites that time. The rest of the visits I never spit out a tasty morsel. So here's to Ruth's Chris Steak House and to many more dinners there.

So here is a touch of the Christmas spice up here in the country. We decorate our tree the same every year. It has been that way since we got married. Green, Red and White. We have had the same lights since we got married. We were married in the fall and when Christmas came around we didn't have anything to decorate with. Mr. D came into the marriage with a box of his childhood ornaments and that was it. So we headed out for a Christmas decoration buying binge. That was year number one and since then I have slowly added a few decorations each year. They last two years though I wasn't to into decorating. I had the mindset that whatever I get out of the box is going to have to go back in after Christmas is over. Two years ago I was very prego with Miss D and last year I was still feeling nausea from being pregnant with Hazel. So this year I went all out. Lights up the stairs, in the nook and in the entryway. None outside though... I'm not that brave with the ladder. Mr. D didn't grow up putting up Christmas lights on the house and my family only did it a few times.... so it isn't really a must for me. My little tot is doing well. She is talking SO well and recalling things from days before. She is associating things with other things... like Grammy's house and fruit snacks, Grandma and Grandpa's house with their golf cart. When she gets dropped off there she will declare "momma church" or "momma doctor" those are the only places that she thinks I ever go without her. Today she was at the golf house with my parents and they went for a ride in the golf cart and saw a tree that had fallen down. When I got back from BSF she told me in the saddest most tradgic voice.."tree fall down... papa fixed it". Tonight in the bath she was still talking about it. She is surely approaching two years old. She has lost her baby fat face and she has a huge tummy and skinny little legs. Her hair is getting long also. The other day I put it up in ponytails with half her hair and then I braided them. She was a pint-sized blond version of Pippy Longstocking...(one of my favs as a child)
Pippy Longstocking is coming into your world
A frekled face red-head girl.....
that's all I remember.
Have you ever gone back and watched the favorite movies of your youth?
Neverending Story.....so not as cool as I remember. But the princess at the end of the movie was everything that I remembered. Here is a little insite into my youth. I cried at the end of that movie when I watched it so long ago... because I can remember wanting to be that princess so bad. I wanted to wear that crown she wore and her dress was so pretty.
There was this cartoon movie that I also loved... these dolls or something would go through the mirror and then be in a different world or something.... a friend and I watched that a few years ago when we saw it in the video store... lame! Just did a google search for "80's through a mirror cartoon"... and I found the title.
I heard that The Flight of the Navigator is still good. I will have to watch that one again. The Secret of Nihm.......I wonder how dark and spooky that one is now that I'm an adult.
Wow... Christmas decor to movies of my childhood.
Now that is a random blog entry.

I got problems

I think that my brain is going down the toilet! I have been having a MAJOR problem lately with "sometimers"! I left my camera at my Bro's house after TurkeyDay. Well I got the package today in the mail (the package folded perfectly...my S.I.L is the wrapping queen) well I came inside to put my memory card back in and I CAN'T FIND IT! You don't even want to see the condition that my office is in... along with my closet(the last place I saw it). I just tore everything in a huff off my desk and out of the drawers and dumped it on the floor. I wouldn't even take a picture of this mess if I could! I CAN'T FIND IT!!!!!!!!! I have no idea where it could be! AGGGGGGGH! Serenity now... Serenity NOW! I needed a serious vent and Mr. D is outside with a friend working on pulling the engine out of a truck... so I turn to my loyal readers! Thanks for listening. My blood pressure is a little lower and I think I better go clean up my mess before Mr. D comes in and sees the trace of the tornado that just blew through our house!

Oswald Chambers Today

November 30th.
BY THE GRACE OF GOD I AM WHAT I AM

"His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:10
The way we continually talk about our own inability is an insult to the Creator. The deploring of our own incompetence is a slander against God for having overlooked us. Get into the habit of examining in the sight of God the things that sound humble before men, and you will be amazed at how staggeringly impertinent they are. "Oh, I shouldn't like to say I am sanctified; I'm not a saint." Say that before God; and it means - "No, Lord, it is impossible for You to save and sanctify me; there are chances I have not had; so many imperfections in my brain and body; no, Lord, it isn't possible." That may sound wonderfully humble before men, but before God it is an attitude of defiance.
Again, the things that sound humble before God may sound the opposite before men. To say Thank God, I know I am saved and sanctified is in the sight of God the acme of humility, it means you have so completely abandoned yourself to God that you know He is true. Never bother your head as to whether what you say sounds humble before men or not, but always be humble before God, and let Him be all in all.
There is only one relationship that matters, and that is your personal relationship to a personal Redeemer and Lord. Let everything else go, but maintain that at all costs, and God will fulfill His purpose through your life. One individual life may be of priceless value to God's purposes, and
yours may be that life.

I love this devotional. I try and read it everyday. Today stuck out to me. It usually takes reading a few times before I can grasp the point it. The language isn't current, so it takes a few times of reading before I can thoroughly understand. But when I have got it understood it is always applicable. even if it was written a while ago. This particular day rang true. How often do we look for the approval man. All the time. We measure ourselves against others and compare what we have with what another has and measure ourselves. We think we are better or worse and through that we end up judging ourselves or another person. We need to measure ourselves against the Godly example and we will see that no one measures up. We are all sinners and not one is righteous. That is why we all are in such a desperate need of a saviour. With Christmas coming up it will be that much more apparent. At this time of year everyone that has heard of Jesus will think of Jesus. We will hear about Him on the radio with Christmas songs and some may go to Church at this time of year, who don't ever go at another time of year. We see that Jesus came and was born in the lowliest place. A stable with animals in the cold. Jesus can identify with anyone because He came to earth as a baby. Babies are helpless little humans in need of care. We are helpless because there is no way that we can avoid sinning. It is in our nature as humans. It is unavoidable. Once we can realize that, we can see that without the forgiveness of Jesus and His death and bloodshed on the cross... there is no way that we can be forgiven. We can't turn one hair on our head grey... let alone forgive our own sin. Jesus was the perfect sinless man and he died with our sin in mind. When God in Heaven looks down to earth at his sons and daughters... he doesn't see our sin. What he sees is the blood of Jesus covering our sin. And through the death of Jesus we can live with the rest and peace that goes along with knowing that we are forgiven and that nothing will seperate us from the love of Christ.

1 Kings 17

We start our new study home group tonight. Mr. D and I are the "guides" and we chose the free downloadable study about The Elijah Chronicles. I found this website online and I can make up to 1000 copies after the file is downloaded. This one was a free download. That made the decision for me right there. We can try this study to know if any of the other studies that we would have to pay for will be worth while. I just got done preparing. I used a website that my M.I.L likes to use called BlueLetterBible. It helped me get the Hebrew and Greek meaning of words to further the study. Green vs Flocked?

I left my camera at the Turkey Day Festivities...
It is in the mail... so I can't post pictures of my Christmas Tree!!!
We went on Saturday to get a 7 foot Green Noble Fir. I wanted a Flocked Tree, but beggars can't be choosy. There were none there that were dry. The Head Flocker had only flocked a few trees and they were not dry yet. I could have risked the tag and bag all the way home... to open the tree to find all the branches glooped together because the pretty white flock wasn't dry yet. Not very fun. So we opted for a green tree. When we got married we had to figure out a 3 year rotation of green trees vs. flocked trees. I grew up with flocked trees and perhaps even a small tree in my room on occasion. Mr. D grew up with green trees. The rotation was flocked tree, lightly flocked tree, green tree. The years that were lightly flocked and green we had to go out and cut down the tree. The year that was flocked we got to go down to the family business and pick out a nicely shaped and manicured tree. We have pretty much stuck to the rotation.. give and take. Two years ago I was VERY prego with Miss D and we went out to the woods with friends to cut down the tree and it was a emotional disaster. We set out to have a great day with friends in the snow cutting down out tree. With great intentions the clan was on our way. We reached a point of trucks loosing 4 wheel drive, getting stuck in the snow and almost going off the cliff before I was ready to end this horrible trip.(although it was fun to be out with great friends in the snow). At one point I burst into the ugly cry because I was sure that my life was very close to sliding off a snowy cliff... my hubby and unborn child included. It was very uncool and I bailed from the truck ( with the emotional support of a close girly). We all came home without trees...save one family, because they were determined to cut "something"down. We came home and went to the family business to get a tree. That year the rotation went out the window. SO..... last year we skipped venturing out among the wilderness and just went down to the family business to get a tree. The same goes for this year. And as the years pass I'm growing to appreciate green trees. I've actually came across people who don't even know what a flocked tree is...? What a sad sad thing!!!

all jumbled up!

I'm feeling festive early this year...
Is it to early to go and get our Christmas tree?
I'm working on rearranging the great room to get ready for the tree...
I got rid of all the Harvest decorations last night and I'm thinking of bringing out the Christmas boxes today...?
---------------------------------------------
Also, To all of you out there who are married... please take a minute to tell your spouse that you are thankful for them. Tell them you love them. Take a minute to evaluate your heart and if there is anything that you hold against your spouse...deal with it now! Before it turns into a mountain! We have had some friends with marital unrest and I pray that we and they will be continually reminded that what God has brought together let no man seperate. The Devil is so good at deception and I hope that our friends will be reminded of the love and forgiveness that Christ has imparted on us and I pray that they can see that it is ours to share with others.

turkey for you and turkey for me

Turkey for me
Turkey for you
Let's eat the turkey
In my big brown shoe
Love to eat the turkey
At the table
I once saw a movie
With Betty Grable
Eat that turkey
All night long
Fifty million Elvis fans
Can't be wrong
Turkey lurkey doo
and Turkey lurkey dap
I eat that turkey
Then I take a nap
Thanksgiving is a special night
Jimmy Walker used to say Dynomite
That's right
Turkey with gravy and cranberry
Can't believe the Mets traded Darryl Strawberry
Turkey for you and
Turkey for me
Can't believe Tyson
Gave that girl V.D.
White meat, dark meat
You just can't lose
I fell off my moped
And I got a bruise
Turkey in the oven
And the buns in the toaster
I'll never take down
My Cheryl Tiegs poster
Turkey and sweet potato pie
Sammy Davis Jr.
Only had one eye
Turkey for the girls and
Turkey for the boys
My favorite kind of pants
Are corduroys
Gobble gobble goo and
Gobble gobble gickel
I wish turkey
Only cost a nickel
Oh I love turkey on Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

hurry up to just wait.

If anyone out there would like to contribute to the...
"get me something else...other than dial-up...keep my sanity...need some visine for my eyes fund"
please do so.
I've been online for almost 2 hours trying to download some pictures to view of a friends site... up and down the stairs about 10 times checking to see how far the download had gotten.
10%................................25%.......................................41%.............................................................50%
(enter the lose patience level and close out the screen!)
Meanwhile, I'm baking Pumpkin Chocolate cookies. Mr. D isn't home from work yet... yes the time is 11pm. Long day today, but day after Turkey day off and no weekend work. So worth it, as I sit here eating a fruit of my labor while he is actually laboring... laying tile at the jobsite.

I won't even tell you all how long it took to download iTunes. Well, since I'm sure you are hanging on every word, I will tell you. 6 hours. There is something SO wrong with that as you all sit at your cable hooked up computers, brezzing through websites like they are going out of style. I have to chose what is more important to me... checking my email and posting a blog entry or sitting here for another 2 hours trying to view a youtube video?
Cherish the fast hook-up you all have and just know that I'm sitting here out in the country watching the blue line inching across the bottom of my screen...ever so slowly...losing patience in the end and closing out the window... making it not worth my time anyways because I didn't even get to see what I was waiting for.
I'm sure when I go brush my teeth, I will have lots of little red veins in my eyes and it will look like I've been doing something illegal.

This girl can put away the oatmeal... she will eat all of this and sometimes want more.

Such a lovely face to wake up to. She always needs a few extra minutes with niney in the am.

This was on Saturday... perhaps the last "nice" day we will have in November. Pickin' flowers with her friends from next door.

Miss D and her friend Todd from next door... when she sees him... she says "pat Todd, See him."

Found It

Anyone notice the pictures have been lacking lately? Well, I "thought" I had lost the battery charger for my camera. I had looked everywhere for it. I have been losing things lately. I think I keep finding these "awesome"spots to store things and then when I go to look for them again... I can't remember where I put them (ie. toilet brush, old pillows). I was at the grocery store on Wed after BSF and I saw a charger on the battery display for $10.00. I didn't think that was to bad... I threw it in the cart and went to grab the AA batteries to go with it. They were all out. So I put the charger back and told myself I would look one more time for my charger at home. Either it was there or I had left it at the beach cabin and it was lost forever.
Thursday I was taking out a carseat out of my car and set it down to pick up Miss D and while I was bent down I saw the charger... under the passenger seat of my car! Whoo hoo!
Now I just have to charge up the dead batteries that are in my camera now and get back to picture taking... tune in for some updated pics.

2 races left

So love me or not... I like NASCAR. I got a call tonight from one of my girlies and she said that she was learning a bit about NASCAR from watching the movie "CARS".... not a bad way to learn. I use to think that it was so dumb... a bunch of cars driving around in a circle. BORING! Let me tell you... that is so not the case. Here are a few tidbits of info about this fun sport.

#1- pit strategy... when during the race to pit... getting 2 tires vs. all 4 tires replaced? Questions that the pit crew boss has to answer.

#2- short track vs long track... I'm a fan of the short track races... more chance of a good wreck.

#3- great wrecks... (these NASCAR cars have such high safety regulations that the chance of getting hurt seems to be pretty low) not that I would wish a wreck on any of the drivers... especially my favs.

#4- pole position ( in the practice the day before the race each driver as the chance to run a few laps on the track that they will be racing on the next day. they are trying to get the best time and that leads to starting out in 1st place and getting the 1st pit spot.)

#5- the drivers... some are so down to earth and just love to race... (i speak as i even know any of them)

#6- Mr. D and I watch the race on Sunday pm after church. Miss D takes her nap and she wakes up in time to catch the end of the race.

#7- Perfect time to catch an afternoon nap.. after the race gets started and is close to about 1/2 over a snooze is just perfect... then you wake up in time to catch the last bit of the race.
Our favs...

Hmmmm, not so good.

Mr. D is downstairs playing Playstation 2 right now. I had to step away, I started to not feel to well. I get motion sickness from watching him play those games. I like to play... but figuring out the two joysticks in addition to the 6 buttons to push is hard to do. We brought it out the the depths tonight. I cleaned out the closet of the playroom today and decided to plug it in. We have a poker game too... now that I can play. No zooming and camera angle changes to put up with. I'm starting to feel better now. It is such a yucky feeling. I just feel WEIRD. I start to think that food will make me feel better... I had two pieces of plain toast with butter and went away from the tv. I think that I got off the motioning boat ride. Yes, I'm feeling better.

?'s answered

In the precious name of Jesus I rest knowing that he is the sovereign God and that he wishes not one perish. For he loves all of mankind. He came to earth and suffered the same trials we suffer. He has been in our shoes and was sinless. He died for us and took the sins of the world upon his blameless shoulders. All I can do is worship him and continue to live my life for him. I hope for the future for all the non-believers that they don't wait until it is to late and they are left behind.

BSF Lesson today

The First day of my BSF lesson.
Matt 7: 1-5
Do Not Judge
1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.6 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

What other words can be used for judging?
I came up with measure and comparison. One of the questions touched a bit on Galatians 1:8 and 2 John 8-11.
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
8 Look to yourselves, that we[b] do not lose those things we worked for, but that we[c] may receive a full reward. 9 Whoever transgresses[d] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

This passage is explained to me in the BSF lecture and here is what I got out of it...
We need to have spiritual discernment to determine our word and our actions towards non-believers. The only way we can attain that is through prayer.

Then the teaching leader touched a bit on world teaching vs. biblical teaching. The world seeks for tolerance and we need to measure everything against the bible. How do you know if it is truth teaching? Does it agree with the bible?

Lastly in my notes I wrote a bit about the end of Matt 7. Jesus is teaching about building your house on a solid foundation... not the shifting foundation of sand. I was able to attest to this with the death of my second born. I was able to rest in Jesus and know that God is good all the time. I was able to turn to the only thing left that I had to grasp to and that was the bible and the truth in those pages. I had nothing else. In my time of need...God met me and has been much more of a reality ever since then.

Ode to the fuzzy feller

Miss D has been crying before bedtime last night and today before naptime. I was confused. Why all the sudden out of the blue... this behavior. Tonight I was told maybe why? TWO YEAR OLD MOLARS! Now I can see that her behavior matchs right up with her normal teething times. Needing momma at sleepy time and unable to relax and sleep well. Tonight she was given medicine about an hour before bed... and low and behold no fits before bed. Just peaceful snuggles and stories and songs.

Also... on my way home tonight I hit a bunny!

Little bunny foo foo
I didn't see you
running under my tire
wasn't so good.

Now you are road kill
I'm really sorry
You made a bad choice of
going out at night.

The fog was so thick
you didn't give a lick
what were you after
that looked so good?

Now it doesn't matter
because you are a splatter
in the middle of the road
GROSS GROSS GROSS!

Early Riser

This year Miss D has not adjusted to daylight savings time very well. She was up today at 6am! Not Cool! She is down for her morning nap right now. I guess over the course of the next few days she will get use to it. Getting up that early has always seemed wrong to me... but to be honest I'm starting to kinda like it. If I get to bed at a decent time, I'm not tired when I wake up...getting up that early isn't hard. Miss D goes down for her morning nappy around 9:30am or 10 am and she is up for lunchtime around noon. Getting up that early and starting my day makes for a very productive day. This morning I fed her breakfast... which was two huge bowls of brown sugar and milk oatmeal (which she calls "meal") and while she was eating I made my vanilla, ice and banana protein shake. Then I loaded the dishwasher from the night before. I copied some recipes onto index cards and put away our suitcase clothes from the weekend along with a 2 loads of laundry. I cleaned out the shower and got us dressed and ready for the day. Shared 2 kiwis with Miss D while she watched Little Einsteins....then she was ready for her nap... and here I am. Hmmm what should I do while she is asleep?
I should finish my BSF study from this week. I need to devote the 1st time of my day to reading my Bible and starting my day out with God first. A few weeks ago we talked about that in my BSF group. Many ladies shared their routine. I want Miss D to grow up seeing me be dedicated to the things that are most important in life. I want her to see that I have my priorities set right so that she will grow up doing the same thing. The last few morning she has been up early and I've felt the Holy Spririt nudging me to stop what I'm doing and give my first time of the day to God. The BSF lecture leader gave a few ideas on how to do that. She suggested to go through the Psalms and Proverbs and match the number with the day of the month. Their are 91 Psalms so I would go through the whole book in 3 months. Their are 31 Proverbs so I would go through the book of Proverbs in one month. I think I will start. Enough of this finding other things to do... there are always going to be other things to do... Jesus could come back at any moment and I want my heart and mind to be meditating on God's word all day. What better time to fill my head with His word than the morning.

Psalm 143:8

8 Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning,

I am trusting you. Show me where to walk,
I give myself to you.

Crabbin' Cabin Fun

Our weekend away at the Crabbin' Cabin was fun. It was a wonderful view from the deck of the bay and the ocean. It was a 6 room, 3 story cabin and it had so much room for all 3 couples and 7 kids to run around and play. The guys caught us 3 dungeonus crab and then alot of the native crab to. I had a good time learning how to de-meat a crab. We had enough meat for me to make about 8 crab cakes and then all take home a bag of crab meat and 2 crabs each. The crab cakes were our late night snack because it took so long for them to get the meat out. Fresh crab meat tastes like lobster... i think. My crab cakes were so yummy! I googled "crab cakes" and got the recipe off a link. This is the one that I made. They had a bit of bite to them and they were just as good the next day. I would use a bit less Worcestershire sauce... because it was a bit overpowering.

INGREDIENTS:
2 6-1/2 oz. cans back fin lump crab meat or 3/4 lb. fresh crab (about 2-1/2 cups)
2 tbsp. reduced-fat mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Several drops hot pepper sauce
4 green onions, chopped
2 Tbsps. dry mustard
Salt and freshly ground pepper, or to taste
2 egg whites
1 cup cracker crumbs
Olive oil spray
PREPARATION:
Drain crab meat and flake with a fork, picking out any shell or cartilage. Put crab meat in a bowl. Add the mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper, green onions, dry mustard, pepper and salt. Blend in the egg whites. Shape into 4 cakes about 4 inches across. Place cracker crumbs on a plate and season with salt and pepper. Roll crab cakes in crumbs, making sure both sides are coated. Heat a nonstick skillet on medium heat. Spray with olive oil spray. Add crab cakes and cook 5 minutes. Turn and cook 5 more minutes. Shared by Coweyes Brown.

We went to see how the local chesse factory made their cheese. We got to sample some special flavors and bought some small bricks of cheese to take home. Then we had lunch there at the cafe. We shared some grilled cheese sandwichs... YUM. They were drippy with cheese and made on sourdough bread. Miss D was loving it. She loves herself a "cheese sammich".

She is also smiling for the camera now. It is nice because I can ask her to smile and she "usually" will do it. This is of her sitting at the table and eating with the "boys doin" at the table. She was always wondering the whole weekend what the boys were doing. So she kept saying "boys doin". It was so cute to see her wondering what she was missing out on having to stay with the mommies and babies.

Much fun was had by all!

See Ya Sunday

Crabbin' Cabin here we come!

Chew Chew Chew

In the past few weeks my little Miss D has had an teeny weeny appetite . After trying to get her to eat... she will say yes.... no...hungreen. We figured out the problem. She wasn't' chewing her food. She ate a pickle the other day and then she threw it up and there wasn't any chewing marks on it. She was swallowing the pieces whole! That is enough to upset a stomach! So now that I watch her eat very closely I can see that she barely chews her food. Well, that has to stop! So we are not watching her eat and making sure that she is chewing. Her appetite is improving. I think that she was nervous about eating because of the reaction that she was having after she ate a big meal. PUKE! So now I say to her "chew chew chew" and "i want to hear it". She puts her little mouth while she is chewing mouth up to my ear so I can "hear it". Good thing she had a little chunck to spare. She looks like a toddler now... no more tummy or chubby cheeks. Last night she had a big plate of meat loaf and this morning she had a big bowl of oatmeal and followed it up with a whole large navel orange at snack-time. She just asked me for a nap. So I went and put her in her bed. Is it weird that she asks me to go to bed? That just isn't something that a 20 month old little person does, is it? Maybe she is growing? Maybe she just requires a lot of sleep? Her whole little life she has slept a lot. But when I think about me and Mr D we sure love to sleep to.
She talks so well. She is speaking in 3-4 word sentances. This mornign she was laying in bed with us. I told her that "it was to dark to wake up" So she was talking to her self. "Matthew" over and over about 100 times. She also had her blanket over her face and was making a noise like blowing out a candle. Silly little girl. We were lame and didn't do anything for Halloween. I'm still on the fence about dressing up and trick-or-treat. I'm not to into identifying myself to evil spirits and saying "hey look at me"or "want to come and hang out". I'm sure some of you will think that is weird... but if you look at an old post of mine... you may agree.
yes, i'm not wearing mascara in this picture..i'm sure you are wondering why i look weird. god blessed me with blonde eyelashes OK.

Work Work Work

Taking Estrace after dinner is ok... but being up late after my dinner has digested isn't ok. It really makes me feel the same as the early stages of nausea during pregnancy. I want to go have a snack, but I know there is no baby in there that I would be starving. It is just my empty tummy needing a snack. Just go chug some milk is what Mr. D would say if he was awake. He worked himself a 14 hour day today. Man he is a hard worker. I really don't envy the guy. I can't even imagine how many calories he burns in a day. It must be a couple thousand at least. No wonder he can't keep weight on. I have an "idea" of what he eats everyday( not counting any non-scheduled gas station stops for a bbq burrito snack). I make his lunch and I know what goes in there. Healthy food... with the exception of the chips and cookies... and the occasional pop tart. Then, I know that he eats for dinner... which is always SO much food. What a life to have... where I would be eating just to keep my weight up. That is so not the case for my life. I chase around an almost 2 year old who recently has been my little cling on. So the chasing has been to a minimum. She would rather sit on the floor and play "sorting the treasure and putting it into the treasure box and then into some cups" or "taking all of the fruit leather out of the lunch drawer a few at a time and taking it into the dining room and putting it on the table". I ask her if she is "doing her work" and she always says "yes". She is so interesting. In a group setting she will hang close to me (if not up on my lap) for a while until she has surveyed the situation and decided that all is clear to get down. Sometimes it will be like 15 minutes. Then she will hang back to kinda get her bearings, to see what everyone else is doing... then she will maybe play or maybe be back on my lap for a little more time to check it out again. Ohhhh how the little quirks of our personalities make us who we are. I'm learning about my little tot's quirks everyday.

Selah brings me peace

IN MY LIFE
(John Lennon, Paul McCartney)

There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever and not for better
Some are gone and some remain

All these places have their moments
With people and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
But in my life, I loved them all

But of all these friends and loved ones
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and friends that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
But in my life I loved you more

If We Never Meet Again
(Albert E. Brumley)

Soon we'll come to the end of life's journey
And perhaps we'll never meet anymore
Till we gather in heaven's bright city
Far away on that beautiful shore

If we never meet again this side of heaven
As we struggle through this world and its strife
There's another meeting place somewhere in heaven
By the beautiful river of life

Where the charming roses bloom forever
And separations come no more
If we never meet again this side of heaven
I will meet you on that beautiful shore

These two songs are sung one right after the other in a song off of the Selah cd "Press On".

I used to listen to this cd over and over again. I would sing the 1st song off the cd to Miss D when she was a baby. I hadn't listened to the cd for a about a year and then I decided to put it in the cd player. Well... the songs that I listed above meant something totally different to me. A wave of emotion came over me when this song number 3 came on and I pushed through the song knowing that as I listened healing would come. I can now listen to this song over and over again because it reminds me of my Hazel and of my Jesus.

See Ya Miss D.

Miss D went in the nursery at church today! Woo Hoo. Last week Mr. D was hunting and I was in and out of the service because Miss D was so not into going in the nursery. Well today she was bribed with snacks and 2 of her best buds were in there. So we made the clean break. She was fighting it with the death cling on grip. But I was strong and didn't give into the "mama" crying and wimpering. I was able to enjoy a great service of learning and enlightenment about what God desires for us and how we all have a heart of our own with God given desires. Are we living out those desires and are we aligned with God, so that we know we are living a life of truth? Deep stuff. Have I mentioned before how I love the Bible. Always something new to learn. Others refer to needing outside commentary in conjunction with the Bible. They refer to the phrase as "continued revelation". The Bible always gives that to me (continued revelation)every time I read it. Where I am in my day and in my life... a verse will mean something different to me than to someone else... depending on everyone' s life circumstances. I know that when I read the bible I take it as the complete truth...not needing any other outside sources to back it up. I have faith that it is God- breathed and alive. I'm so thankful to be able to rest in that truth and always know that I can take God at his word because he is never changing and always true.

Surgery went well.
I'm home and resting.
I got pictures from the surgery..... maybe TMI?
I'm doing well... if you call and I don't answer that means that Miss D is sleeping and so am I.
Leave a message and I will call you back when I wake up.
I'm not taking my pain meds... because Ibuprofen is working for me!

What I never knew

I learned a new thing yesterday. I learned it while watching Charlotte's Web. (the old version)

I learned how spiders get from here to there. All my life I never could figure out how spiders could string their web across such long distances. Like from one tree to another. I thought that they would walk down the tree and over to to the next tree and up to where they could get across... I don' t know. It was to hard for me to wrap my brain around. You know when you walk through a string of web and there is no spider in site. Well at the end of Charlotte's Web all her baby spiders are born and they all go up to the fence post and stick their little spider booty up in the air and catch a ride through the air by their web catching the wind. It was one of those A-ha moments that is followed by the thought... why didn't I ever figure that out?

Killing Power.

The hubby sent me an email yesterday... is there something wrong with that picture? We do talk, but he was at his desk and I at my desk at home...anyways...

He emailed me with the note... "weed"

Then inside the email he said "now that I got your attention"... hahahaha very funny. Funny how my brain would go that route and he would know that. Well what he was really wanting was for me to spray weeds around the yard. That has been my duty this summer. It is easy and I just fill the backpack up with weed killer and water and I'm on my way. I'm getting better at the job. The first few times I missed a tone of weeds. I'm not a very methodical person, so organizing my spray was a hard task to master. Last time weed amd grass killing spray got all allong the ege of the grass and I killed it DEAD! But this time... I was extra careful. I just know one of these times there is going to be dead footprints going across the lawn because I walked through a fresh spray and tracked it into the grass. After I'm done spraying I look around at all I sprayed and hope that it all dies. What if I got the mix wrong and all my spraying work was in vain? It will take about 2 weeks with the weather now for the weeds to die. But, when I start to see wilting and yellow my heart does a leap. Such simple pleasure.... life in the country. I get happy over a dead weed.

you can find just about anything on google... the picture really adds to the dramatic effect right.

What I know for sure.

What I know for sure.
Shannon tagged me and these are 5 things I know for sure.
1. The group Selah and their music speaks to my soul.
2. I got a sore throat and Miss D started having random puking when I started to stir the pot regarding a certain religion, I deleted my posts and commanded the blood of Jesus to cover me and Miss D and In the name of Jesus the Devil leave us alone and in the Name of Jesus my sore throat would go away. Instantly my throat was better and Miss D hasn't puked again. In the name of Jesus I commanded the demons to leave my throat.
3. My daughter is so cute (to me) that sometime it actually hurts my heart.
4. I love where I live and when I wake up (like today) and can see above the fog, changing leaves, two mountains, the sun and rolling light blue hills I can feel the awesome of God's creation and I hope that I never have to move away.
5. I miss my Hazel Hope with all my heart and I can rest in the fact that I know when I get to Heaven with Jesus we will have a wonderful time singing praises together!

.....now what do these three wonderful ladies know for sure?

It was brown and now it's down.

After a four year dry spell... Mr. D finally shot a deer. Last time this happened the weather was warm and the deer was going to spoil from hanging so they cut it up and put garbage bags of deer meat in my fridge. YUCKY. And what is the weather going to do this week I hear... warm!

I won't post a picture because mr. deer is missing his fur and his insides. We are skipping the butcher this time because last time I'm not sure that we got the same meat back. So... Mr. D is going to borrow a friends meat grinder and go to town with it himself. I'm so happy for my hubby because I just know that he is going to be in such a great mood. Year after year of never killing anything can really bring a guy down. So... now that there has been a deer shot and some antlers to keep and some meat to put in the freezer Mr. D should have his killing tank all filled up. I'm thankful that he came home safely after 4 days in the woods and that he was able to fill his tag this year.

another find.

I'm doing my BSF for this week... just came across this verse.
Matt 18:19 Jesus speaking...
I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.
Ponder that verse for a while.

Hubby Hunting... Girls nite out!

I had dinner and drinks with one of my bestest new friends last night. Church and Arbonne brought our lived together. We did pizza (frozen kind)... our hubbies are out hunting and some girls needed a break from cooking! Well, the kiddos were loving the pizza and we had a few slices ourselves. Then I made us some delicious Mint Mohitos (thanks to my bro for the recipe). I was on the apple peeler-corer-slicer and she was on washing duty. The kids were eating peacefully at the table (ya right) and we were beginning to make some Apple Cranberry Butter. Well I left before the process got really going. I just helped the apples get themselves peeled and put into the simmering cranberry juice. It was smelling so good. We were sitting on the carpet while the kiddos were "attempting" to watch Tomas The Train. Baby needed her bed... Miss D was tired too. She was asking me what to do about a few pictures on her wall and if she should move them around. I have to say that I'm a fan of using what you have and just mixing it up a little. So... we brainstormed some possibilities.
Way to soon the night had winded down and I needed to head home to get a girl to bed. After she was down for the night, I looked around the house and thought that I should do the same thing. So... until about midnight I was in reorganizing mode. Just ask my neighbor... I go into these weird moods and do crazy things when Mr. D is gone hunting. I buzz around the house with a new awareness of possible clutter and decorating gone bad. Things get put away and put other places. Stuff gets thrown out or reused in another place. It was a good time and I think that I may have burned off a few of the calories that I ate from the pizza at dinner time. I went to be hungry which is a good thing because that means that my body had digested the food from dinner and I was going to be accessing stored fat for energy as I sleep.

Welcome Carlie baby.

Welcome to Carlie Tahlia.
Born yesterday at 6:45pm.
Weighing in at 5 pounds 13 ounces.
18 1/2 inches long.
No pictures yet... I will leave that up to the professionals.

She is such a cute little button. She looks different than her sister. She looks alot like her daddy... with his nose and tiny little nostrils. Miss D gave her lots of gentle pats and sat with me as we held her. I was hearing the devil whispering in my ear as I walked into the hospital.
"You won't be able to hold her",
" You will be overwhelmed at how little she is and she will remind you of how little Hazel was."
Well I will tell you what was running through my head...
I can do all things through Christ who strengths me. Phil 4:13
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.2 Corinthians 12:9
As I was looking up the verses to link on this post I can across this passage of Daniel 10.
v. 18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength. 19 "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strong now; be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength."
I just love the Bible. Every time I read it is new to me. The Word is alive and speaks to me every time I read it. This passage in Daniel 10 was such a find.
